WATER PUMPING:
Special
direct current solar submersible pumps are being used very economically where low volumes
of water, 1 000 to 13 000 litre, are required daily. Examples of such uses are stock and
game watering points, small community and individual household water supply. The capital
cost associated with the purchase of a solar pump is in most cases lower than the cost of
a wind pump, for a product that is a lot less troublesome.
The pumping of large volumes of water with solar is also possible. Use is normally made of
specially developed energy efficient line shaft pump systems (Mono) fitted with direct
current permanent magnetic motors or 220 and 380vAc submersible pumps receiving power via
an inverter and batteries or direct power conditioner. These large pump systems are ideal
for village water or orchard irrigation For more
